Free Youth Master Class w/ Oscar Winner Tarell McCraney
The Artists Within Reach: Notes to my Younger Self master class series welcomes, Liberty City native, Tarell Alvin McCraney. Tarell is an American playwright, actor and co-writer of the 2016 Academy Award winning film Moonlight. The film is an extraordinary coming-of-age drama based on McCraney's unpublished semi-autobiographical play In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue. Supporting the imagination and creativity of South Florida’s new emerging storytellers and young creatives is the nexus of the Artists Within Reach: Notes to my Younger Self collective project. Artists Within Reach: Notes to my Younger Self participants have practiced running actors lines with Tony Award Winner Bill Irwin, learned the power of "telling your own story and being your own generator" with three time NAACP Image Award winner Malik Yoba and created powerful group performances reflecting the adolescent experience today with four time Grammy Award winner Dice Raw of the Legendary Roots Crew. Join Artists Within Reach: Notes to my Younger Self for another interactive youth master class.
